Two are Great Danes, one black female, one blue merle male. Both are altered, current on vaccines, HW prevention, etc. She had to move out of her house and the place she's moved into only has a small yard and the dogs are miserable. I'm also thinking that she's unable to afford to feed them. She needs to place them both, and she'd prefer that they go together but they don't have to. I'm offering free obedience training to whoever adopts them but they're both already trained. It's more for the adjustment of the dogs and people, not really anything else. Both completely housebroken. Only problem is the blue merle doesn't like cats. Any ideas? Kerri (770) 883.1930
	Karlee is a 2 year old Harlequin with natural ears. She likes kids, dogs, and cats. Owner can't afford to keep her.
	Norma Jean is a six month old "Merlequin" with natural ears and blue eyes. Her owners are moving into an apartment and can't take her. She is a very sweet girly girl.
Photo Soon!	Malcolm is a ten year old fawn male with natural ears. He is visually impaired and hearing impaired. I adopted him out when he was ten months old to a lovely couple. Just recently, the wife, at 43 years old dropped dead in the living room. I just got Malcolm back at ten years old. He is shy. Loves to sit on the couch, with his front feet still on the floor.
	Barney is a 2 yr old Harlequin with cropped ears.  He is quite petite.  He is what we would call apartment size! He looks exactly like his bigger counterparts, but looks like he was washed in hot water and shrunken!  He gets along with other dogs and cats.  He is quiet and very nice to live with.  His owners had a baby and had to place him.
Click for Photos	Donkey was born Aug 1, 2008. She is black with a white "w" on her chest. She is spayed. She does have cherry eyes--I have had surgery to fix it, but they popped back out. She is great with children; she has been raised with my two boys. I am looking for a home for my great dane. She is 3 1/2 years old. If you can help me please give me a call at 904 866 2505. 	April 14, 2009 Oliver is 4 and one-half month old mantle boy with natural ears.  He is a little shy.  His owner surrended him because he has wobblers.
	April 14, 2009 Marvin is an 11 month old brindle-kin with natural ears.  He is a very sweet boy.  His owner could not keep him anymore.
	Scooby is a 3 year old Harlequin male with cropped ears.  He has severe separation anxiety and needs to be placed with a person who does not work and is home all the time.  Scooby is a sweet boy though, and very large.
	October 15, 2008 Diamond is a 1-1/2 year old Harlequin female with cropped ears, but only one stands.   She seems nice so far.  She is bouncy and bubbly, and has an extra-long tongue.
	Peter is a two year old black male with natural ears. He was left abandoned in a garage when his owners moved. He is very nice and gets along well with others.
	September 15, 2008: Henry is a 2 year old Harlequin boy with natural ears.  He was running loose in Lakeland and picked up by Polk animal control.  He is a little shy but nice.  He is on the smaller side.  We just got him two days ago, so he has not shown us nuch personality yet.
	Nala is a 1-1/2 year old Dane wannabe Lab-Aussie mix. She is a wonderful dog! She is housebroken, crate trained, and very sweet.
	Gretchen is a 3 year old merlequin with natural ears. She is very emaciated, her weight when she arrived was 88 pounds.  She has happy tail syndrome (bleeding tail from whacking it into objects).  She does not appreciate other female dogs.  A good samaritan rescued her from a puppy mill in St. Pete.  She has entropion in both eyes.  She will have surgery to correct it when she gains weight.  The vet says that she does not weigh enough to put her under.
	Jared is a 2-1/2 year old harlequin male with cropped ears. He gets along well with other dogs but no cats. His owners didn't want him anymore.
	Cassie is a 6-1/2 year old harlequin with cropped ears and tail and blue eyes. She is very sweet and gets along with dogs and cats. She knows some obedience commands. She is somewhat food aggressive. Her owner lost his home.
	Sophie is a 7 month old mantle girl with natural ears. She is a sweet girl, but slightly food aggressive. Puppy mill seizure.
	Maxine is a 2 years old Harlequin female with cropped ears. She is just coming out of her shell and she’s a nice girl.
	September 26, 2011 Buddy is looking for a new family to love! Buddy is a young adult neutered Great Dane/Cane Corso mix, approximately 2 years old. He is a big boy at 120lbs, and still in need of putting on just a bit more weight, which should be no problem since he has a very good appetite. Buddy is very affectionate, great attitude (tail is always wagging), and well behaved. He walks well on a leash and sits on command. He does not have a high energy level and seems to just want to be someone's best friend. Has shown no animosity towards other dogs. Not sure about cats but seems to have little prey drive. He would make a very loyal companion to any family and is to be an inside dog, not a yard dog. Adopters are required to complete an application, home visit, and provide vet and personal references. 	November 26, 2007 We are about to receive a large number of Danes (possibly over thirty!) from a puppy mill in Lakeland that is being shut down by the State of Florida due to poor living conditions. We are in great need of dog food. Pedigree is our preferred brand, but we can mix donations of other brands with it. Cash donations are also greatly appreciated, and help us with the Danes' medical needs. Arrrgyle (see the Available Danes page) is the first of the dogs from the puppy mill. Considering his problems, we expect significant medical expense with this group. January 9, 2008 - Here are pictures of 19 puppy mill Danes who are currently at Polk County Animal Control. 	January 2012 Update: Jasmine is living in Lakeland with her new family--mother, father and 11 year old girl. They really love her a lot!
	March 6, 2009 Bernie Mac is a 10 month old black male with natural ears.  He is going to be a big boy.  He came from north Florida. His former owners were keeping him in a crate in the back yard.  He was not allowed out of his crate even to use the bathroom.  He is approximately 30 pounds underweight; shy but extremely happy to be alive!
	Taleah ( Leo’s sister) is an 11 month old fawn female with natural ears. Very shy, thin. Puppy mill seizure in Polk County. Very sweet.

	April 14, 2009 We also have a lab male named Louie that came with Conrad.  He is approximately the same age.  He is chocolate colored with black specks and spots.
	April 14, 2009 Conrad is a 1 and one half year old black male from Levy County Animal Control.  He has natural ears.   He is very, very emaciated.
	If you want a Dane that makes you smile, Shelby is your girl! Shelby is a bit shy of strangers, but once she figures out you're one of the good people, her joy knows no bounds. Just saying her name in a happy voice makes her wiggle. Start talking to her in a squeaky voice and she becomes mindless with joy. Shelby has two speeds; on and off. Open the door and she races out... then stops, then races, then stops. For all of that her favorite activity is snuggling on the couch. Shelby gets along with other medium to large dogs, but she has a high prey drive so would not be a candidate for a home with small pets. She is a young three year old, natural eared, merle.
	May 12, 2009 Marla is a three year old blue merle female with cropped ears. Citrus County Animal Control found her running loose, and called us after they were unable to locate an owner. Marla is a happy soul. She is friendly with people and other dogs, and fully house trained. She walks well on a leash and has a soft temperament. She does not like thunderstorms and tends to whine a bit during them, but is not in any way neurotic about them. Marla has not yet been checked out by the vets, but will hopefully soon be available for adoption.
Photo Soon!	Tobias is a 2 year old mantle boy with natural ears.  We got him from Levy County Animal Control.  He is brand new and has not shown us anything in the way of personality yet.  We know he was kept outside because he is sunburned.

	April 14, 2009 Stanley is a 9 month old blue merle male with natural ears.  He is very shy.  His owners are moving.
	The father of Jenna's puppies, Jasper, is an 11 months old mantle with natural ears.  He is very nice.  All 4 legs are extremely swollen.  He is at the vet now.  We hope he does not have a bad heart.

Photo Soon!	March 6, 2009 Kayley is a 20 month old mantle female with cropped ears.  She is very cat aggressive and will kill a cat if she is able. Needs to be an only dog.

March 11, 2009 We picked up the new boy today from Gainesville (Alachua County Animal Control).  He is a 4 year old brindle boy with natural ears.  He is a nice boy and even knows some obedience.  He is underweight with hip bones showing.  We have decided to name him Sam.  He is a little shy right now, but is coming around nicely.  He is uncertain regarding the other dogs.

	Frank is a 10 month old fawnequin.  He is very sweet and laid back. He is great with other dogs.  Owners gave up because they didn't have time for him.

	Malcolm is a 14 month old black boy with natural ears.  His owners did not want him anymore. He has severe demodectic mange with almost no hair on his body.  Was red and raw and skinny when dropped off.  Very, very sweet boy.  Happy and loving. 	Lolly is a 2 year old mantle female with natural ears.  Shy.  Owners did not want anymore because they are having their third baby.

October 15, 2008 Valentino is a 2 and one-half year old black male.  He is LARGE boned.  He has cropped ears which were never taped, resulting in crop failure.  We just picked him up today from Citrus animal control.  He has a broken toe and large hygromas on both elbows.   He's a little lean right now and only weighs 130lbs, which is about 25lbs underweight.  He is very sweet and thinks he only weighs 5 lbs and tries to crawl into your lap every other second!  Valentino is a bit afraid of men right now, but comes around.
	Kiki is a 10 month old Harlequin girl.  She is outgoing and turbo charged!  Gets along well with others.
	Dallas is a 1 and one-half year old black male with cropped ears.  He is very, very, very, tall.  He is thin right now.  He is quite the clown and sweet as well.  His owners had six other dogs and couldn't keep him.  He gets along with other dogs and cats.
Photo Soon!	Nikki is a one year old blue merle female that was an owner give-up. They had gotten a divorce and neither had time for the dog. She is nice but a little hard headed. Gets along well with others.
Photo Soon!	Annabelle is a one and one-half year old black female with natural ears. She has white feet and chest. She was an animal control seizure that was tied to a tree and not fed. She is spring loaded and loves attention. She has the speed of a greyhound and the grace of a gazelle! Loves to please.
	Arrrgyle is a fourteen month old mantle boy with natural ears. He was kept in the back seat of his owners' car for over a week and a half. Before that he must have been confined to a small crate since he has advanced arthritis in his spine. He also has bladder stones and pano in his left femur. He is terribly emaciated. He only weighs 85 lbs. He cannot walk on his left rear leg. All the muscles in his right rear leg are atrophied due to confinement. He is extremely sweet and wags his tail even when he is drinking water. He had thousands of fleas on him when the owner dropped him off. We sprayed him with flea spray many times and I have never seen that many fleas on a dog! He will need a lot of rehab and TLC over the next several months. May 18, 2010 update: Arrrgyle is doing great and has gained 35 pounds.
	Waldo #27 is a 2 year old mantle male with cropped ears.  He has been burned by cigarettes and they used a pair of pliers on his love handle.  He is only 102 pounds and should be about 170.  They also sawed off all four of his canine teeth so he couldn't bite them.  He is a very sweet boy, but very clingy.
Photo Soon!	Artemus is a 10 month old male blue merle with natural ears. He was boarded at his vet's office by owner and owner never returned for him.  He was then transferred to animal control after 6 weeks of boarding. Does not like men.  Is slow to trust humans.  He is very thin.
	Phoebe is a 9 month old black female with natural ears.  Very, very shy, but sweet.  Owner gave her up because they had no time and children didn't like her.
	Angel is a 1-1/2 year old harlequin female with natural (uncropped) ears.  She is scared of men. She was found running loose in Sebring in the road. She is a very sweet and clingy girl.
Photo Soon!	New in July 2007   Darby is a 10 month old female mantle merle with natural ears.  She is very emaciated, only 69 pounds!  Bag of bones but quite loving!  Beautiful color and quite exuberant!  She came from an Animal Control seizure in Jacksonville.

September 15, 2008: Stevie is a 2 and one-half year old black male with natural ears.  He was found running loose in Brandon.  People report that he had been running the streets for five days.  He was picked up and taken to a vet in Brandon and then transported to us last night at 10:30 p.m.  His pads are bleeding and right now he can't walk.  We had to carry him into the house and out to potty.  He is always wagging his tail. Update - September 25, 2008 Stevie has been reunited with his parents!  He was microchipped and we had him scanned.  He has been successfully placed back home.  His parents were worried sick!  We really could use a universal microchip scanner so that we can check incoming animals immediately.
	June 12, 2008:  We just picked up a mother, father and 3 puppies from Citrus County Animal Control. The mother, Jenna, is 6 months old, black with natural ears.  She is very emaciated, so skinny that they could not even microchip her.  She was dropped off by the owners with nine puppies.   Three had died on the way to Animal Control of flea anemia. When I arrived, three more had died because Animal Control had left the puppies with the mom and she had crushed them.  So now we have three two-day old puppies.  Two mismarked blacks and one mantle. 	Honey is a 3 year old black female with cropped ears.  She was found running loose on Highway 41 by a policeman.  He stopped traffic and picked her up.  He happened to live in our neighborhood and brought her to us.
	Jessie is a 1-1/2 year old brindle female with natural ears.  She is active and outgoing.  She lived with Basia.  Their owner moved.
	Admiral is a fawn male with natural ears, between 2-3 years old. He was an animal control seizure for abuse and neglect. The owner had 4 other dogs that were all fat and healthy, but this poor dane belonged to her husband whom she hated. So to get back at her husband, she confined the dane and purposely tried to starve him to death. As a full grown adult male, he weighed a whopping 72 pounds. his cheek bones were sticking out of his face farther than his eyes that were sunken into his skull. DISGUSTING! He is currently at the animal emergency clinic because of severe pancreatitis. They did not know if he would even live thru the night due to the malnutrition.
	Dana is a 2 year old black female with natural ears.  Her owner didn't want her anymore.
	Puppy Mill Rescue 3. George. 102lbs 17 month Harlequin male. 2/11/08 update: George is a nice boy and gets along with other dogs. Already able to sit on command and he is ready for adoption.
	Puppy Mill Rescue 4. Iggy. 104lbs 2 year old male. 2/11/08 update: Iggy is extremely shy and needs to be an only dog. He is still working on coming out of his shell. He is available for adoption to a quiet home.
	Puppy Mill Rescue 2. Caleb. 116 lbs 17 month old Harlequin male. 2/11/08 update: Caleb is a very sweet boy, but slightly food aggressive. He would benefit from an experienced home and is ready for adoption.

	Puppy Mill Rescue 6. Sebastian. 150lb 5 year old black male.  Crop flop ears, white chest, white toes, cement sores on back legs, sweet boy, always wagging. 2/11/08 update: Sebastian underwent emergency bloat surgery in February. Three vets worked on him for over four hours. Currently his medical bills are at about $3,000.00, but he is recovering nicely and has a very sweet and loving disposition. Due to his recovery needs Sebastian is not yet available for adoption.

	Athena is a 1-1/2 year old black female with natural ears. People didn't have time for her. SHE IS GREAT WITH KIDS. They dropped her off in their SUV with seven children crammed in!  Very sweet dog. Not great with other dogs.
	Duke is an 11 month old black male with natural ears.  He was kept on a farm where they didn't have time for him.
Photo Soon!	Honey is a 1-1/2 year old brindle girl with natural ears.  Her former owners gave her up because they got new floors!!  She was kept in a laundry room 24/7.  Very nice girl, gets along with other dogs.  She is sweet but shy.
	Cinny is a 1-1/2 year old black female with natural (uncropped ears) and brown highlights!  Her owners were moving.  She is shy but nice.  We haven't figured out her personality yet.

	Duke is a three year old light brindle male with cropped ears, initially shy but very affectionate once he gets to know you. Duke has wonderful house manners, is not much of a barker, and is very laid back. He get's along with other dogs just fine, but would not find being an "only dog" at all lonely. If you are looking for a calm and gentle companion to share your space, Duke is a great candidate" April 16, 2008 Update from Duke's new family: Duke has joined our family of two Great Danes, an All American mixed breed, a Bearded Dragon, a Russian Tortoise, two rabbits, and two pet rats. He fits in beautifully! He has even become a Certified Animal Assistance Dog with Paws For Friendship Incorporated, an International Pet Therapy Organization. We simply adore this wonderful, loving boy and are very grateful to The Tampa Bay Great Dane Rescue for bring him into our lives!  -- Jan
	George and Gracie are three month old puppies just in.  One male, one female. They are both black with white markings. Both have natural ears.  They were found in the road with their sibling who had already been hit by a car and killed.  Very sweet and loving.   Gracie is more outgoing.   George is shy but loving.  They were fixed on June 27 and are ready to go!
	Killer is an 8 month old neutered, blue merle, male puppy with natural ears. He is wonderful in the house, crate trained, polite, happy, and good with our other dogs and cats. He is a good eater, and a good watch dog. He loves to sleep in our bed and rest his head on us.
	Kent is a 5 month old blue merle boy with natural ears.  His owner was taking hime to animal control when the neighbor stopped him. He is quite shy but extremely sweet!  Loves to be a lap puppy.  He is on the thin side.  He is a wonderful baby.
	Jillian is an 8 year old mantle female with natural ears.   She lived with Riley.  Both of them are very sweet and have lived with other dogs.  The owner had to give them up because they were moving.
	Clifford is a 9 month old black male with natural ears. He is severely emaciated. He was chained to tree and only weighs 82 lbs.
	Bonnie is a 6 year old blue female with cropped ears.  She was kept in a crate in a back yard for five years and never let out.
	Zulu is a 4-1/2 year old mantle female with cropped ears.  She is very sweet and bouncy.  She LOVES men--follows Dan around everywhere!   She is afraid of thunder storms, but all she does is get into the tub until it is over...kind of cute!   Very nice girl.  I enjoy her company.  Would be best in a home either without other dogs or with dogs that don't want to play with her.  She was raised as an only dog so she doesn't understand the playing thing yet. Zulu now lives in Miami with a family that has a little girl who is also afraid of thunderstorms!
Sorry, no photo!	Waldo is a 9 month old Mantle boy. He has two broken legs; left knee torn apart, both front legs swollen, skinny. Very very large male. Father was over 200 lbs. Incredibly sweet boy for what he has been thru. The former owners "don't know what happened to him." 9/19 Update:  Took Waldo in for many x-rays and they discovered that his pelvis is broken in many places and has been allowed to heal in a bad position. His left leg is broken right above his knee and of course, right through his growth plate. His left leg will not grow now and is very deformed--very very sad. it was questioned if he should be put down. One look in those huge brown eyes and I can't do it. Waldo has been adopted and now lives in Orlando with our BEST foster mother!
	Oliver is a 10 month old male with natural (uncropped) ears.  He has a very sweet disposition.  The owner gave him up due to relocation to another state. Oliver now lives in St Pete with a nice couple.
	Mr. T is a 3 year old blue merle boy with natural (uncropped) ears. He was an animal control pick up running loose in Pasco county. When owners were contacted they said that they did not want him back. No small animals, cats or children, otherwise he is very sweet and loves to be petted. Mr. T now lives in Sarasota with a Greyhound and their new mom.
	Basia is a 3 year old brindle female with natural ears.  She is shy. She lived with Jessie.  Their owner moved.
	Riley is a 3-1/2 year old mantle/blue merle male with natural ears.  He is a nice, playful dog.  He lived with Jillian.  Both of them are very sweet and have lived with other dogs.  The owner had to give them up because they were moving.
	Douglas is a 2 year old fawn male with cropped ears. He was neglected; his owners didn't have time for him.  Loves stuffed animals.  NO OTHER DOGS.

	Destiny is a 6 year old harlequin female with croppped ears.  She came to us with her house mate Zeus.  She doesn't act her age. Both came to us because the owner was moving and couldn't take them with. They are both very sweet and eager to please. They are a little overweight so they were definitely loved.
	Zeus is a 9 year old harlequin male with cropped ears.  He doesn't act 9 and is very sweet. He came with his house mate Destiny.  Both came to us because the owner was moving and couldn't take them with. They are both very sweet and eager to please. They are a little overweight so they were definitely loved.
	"Merle" is a 2 year old blue merle boy.  He is huge--the biggest boy we've gotten into rescue.  Would do well in a single pet household.
	Katie Did is 10 month old fawn female with natural ears. She was kept in a crate that was too small for her and was left to lay in her own pee and poop.  These wonderful people had a yard sale and gave her away at their yard sale.
	Sadie is an 11 month old black female with natural (uncropped) ears.  Owner gave her up.  She was beaten by the woman's boyfriend and is severly freaked out by men. She needs a home with a woman only.

	Titon
	Cleopatra is a 6-1/2 month old black female with natural (uncropped) earrs. Her owners gave her up because they were going to have a baby. She is very sweet and loving.
	Sasha is a 3-1/2 month old black female with natural (uncropped) ears.  She is an extremely sweet baby.  Sasha was poisoned and abandoned at an animal hospital in St. Pete.  She was bubbling blood out of her nose, and bleeding from her lungs. She had to have many blood transfusions, and they did not know if she would live. After spending a month at the clinic, she is happy and healthy now.
	Denzel is a 2 year old black male with natural ears.  He is sweet and eager to please.  NO CATS.  Owner didn't want him anymore.
	Calvin is a 10 month old black boy with natural (uncropped) ears, white feet and chest.   He was an owner give up due to lack of time.  A sweet and goofy boy, he likes to play.
	Lincoln is a 2 year old blue merle boy with natural (uncropped) ears. Very large. No other dogs in household.
	Ramona is a two year old mantle female.  She has had a litter of puppies.  She is VERY nice and gets along with other dogs.  She is a wonderful dog!  She was found running in the street and was possibly hit by a car... deformed spine, but very functional.
	Blu is a 13 month old blue merle male.  He is a sweet, goofy puppy.  The owner had to give him up because they were moving.
	Schultz is a 10 month old harlequin boy with natural (uncropped) ears.  He is very playful and very active.  He loves all other dogs.  His owners found out that they were pregnant and couldn't keep him.
	Spider is a 10 month old black boy with white chest and feet and natural (uncropped) ears.  He is extremely emaciated.   He is a sweet boy who knows obedience commands.
Photo Soon!	Lucy is a 1-1/2 year old black female with natural (uncropped) ears. Owner turn-in to animal control in Jacksonville. Wonderful volunteers named John and Martha Desautel drove up to pick her up. Very sweet girl, very head shy. Does not like a collar to be put over her head.
	Vinnie is a 10 month old black boy with natural ears and white on his feet and chest!  He came from a home with two other dogs and a new baby and they couldn't handle them all. He is a very sweet boy with nice manners.

	Sam is an 8 year old Harlequin male with cropped ears. He is a VERY, VERY, VERY sweet boy. Gets along with anyone. Great with children and other dogs and cats. Unbelievable!  His previous owner boarded him at the vet's office and never came back for him. He was there for a month and a half.
	Jenna is a 1-1/2 year old black female with cropped ears.  She was a stray picked up by Sumter County Animal Control.  She is severely emaciated.  She is very sweet, but very scared.
	Monty is a 5 month old baby boy with natural (uncropped) ears.  He is black with white feet and chest. He is VERY VERY sweet, and loves to lay on your feet.

	Jaxson is a two year old Harlequin male. He has cropped ears. He is a BIG boy, and sweet. He is not crazy about other males, but has not offered to eat anyone. He was dumped at a car repair shop in Brooksville. He had a pelvic fracture which did not heal perfectly, so he has a moderate pelvic tilt.  He also has suprascapular paralysis in his right shoulder which sometimes interferes with his use of that leg.

	Clyde is a three year old mantle (boston) male.  He has cropped ears.  His owner turned him in to animal control extremely emaciated.  He'll be very large when he gets back to his proper weight.  He's rather reserved so far.

Owner abandoned her at SPCA.  She was very thin (40-50 pounds underweight), but is putting on some weight now.

Sorry, no photo!	Toby is a 3-4 year old Merlequin male, Very, very sweet boy. Very sedate and mellow. He was found running as a stray in Ruskin. Toby was very ill. He was heartworm positive and severely emaciated.
	Hannah is a 2 year old blue merle female. Owners decided that they didn't want her anymore. Does not get along with other dogs. Is a sweet foot warmer. Needs to gain weight.
	Missy is a four and a half year old black female. Her owner moved and could not take. Left her behind, tied to a tree in her back yard. Neighbor was supposed to feed her but forgot. Very skinny and shy. She had just enough rope to dig under the house which is probably the only thing that saved her from dying from the heat. She is very nervous about other dogs so she would need to be an only dog. She is sweet but lacking confidence. She is also very petite. Very small dane in stature and weight.

	Libby was an owner "give up" due to the fact that the owner was diagnosed with cancer and could no longer care for the dog. She is a very sweet girl that is just learning how to play and loving it! She knows her name and no. She is okay with other dogs and cats. She is still shy but is blossoming every day.

	Cricket is a 6 year old Black female with natural ears. Her previous owner passed away and the woman's sister couldn't keep her.

They would not get her the eye surgery she needed, so she was going blind. Very big female, large boned. She's a talker and a kisser.

	Lady is a one and one-half year old black female. Her owners gave her up due to lack of time. She is very sweet and comical, but was beaten with a glass bottle of some kind. She had embedded glass removed from her back, and screams everytime she sees a bottle.
